Strategic Transport, INC. is a full-service 3rd party logistics provider founded in 2001 by Brian Stone. With more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry, Brian used his knowledge to start his own company. After years of hard work, he achieved his dream of creating a company that produces the results customers needed – one with a commitment to excellence, quality customer service, and competitive pricing.

Brian laid the foundation for STI’s success and today, daughter and son Hilda Stone and Phil Stone continue with the same dedication. They’ve grown the family business tremendously over the years, as well as built a respectable reputation within the freight shipping logistics industry.

STI has been a proud member of the Transportation Intermediaries Association since 2001. Members of this respected group must follow a strict code of ethics. As members, we are committed to staying up-to-date with the latest transportation rules and regulations as they develop in the ever-changing freight shipping industry.

The origin of a company is always just as fascinating as the future vision. Brian began his career as a traffic manager for a billion dollar pharmaceutical company in California called Pharmavite in 1975. He soon discovered he wanted to get into sales and took a position with a freight forwarding company in Portland Oregon called Coast-Car Loading which consolidated LTL shipments and placed them on the rail. From there he moved on as a sales rep for Consolidated Freight Ways where he worked from 1987-1998 being promoted from account manager to sales manager to terminal manager. After much achievement he decided to further his career and take his shot at becoming an account manager for a third party logistics company. Brian’s true passion has always been sales, so success followed and in 2001 he decided to open up his own third party logistics company, Strategic Transport Inc. We wanted to capture and highlight his vision and experience in creating STI.

No matter the size of your shipment, our team handles it attentively from pickup to delivery. We handle all the critical decisions along the way, enabling us to personally ensure your goods arrive on time and are handled with care. Plus, we carefully screen each of our partner carriers, many of whom are endorsed by SmartWay.

STI handles shipments with many different, yet specific requirements. Some shipments are part of on-time delivery programs designed to meet inventory needs, while others are critical delivery appointments (shipments going to Best Buy or Costco). We also move freight to and from various government facilities with strict pickup and delivery requirements.

Members of Your Community

Because we care about our community, we’re always looking for ways to give back. We’re a big supporter of the Fastpitch Cares fundraiser, and we work with the local YMCA. In the past, we’ve given to the Oregon Humane Society, CASA for Children, American Red Cross, and the Journey Foundation.
