BrianBrian Stone - Brian began his career as a traffic manager for a billion dollar pharmaceutical company in California called Pharmavite in 1975. He later took a position with a freight forwarding company in Portland Oregon called Coast-Car Loading. From there he moved on as a sales rep for Consolidated Freight Ways where he worked from 1987-1998 being promoted from account manager to sales manager to terminal manager. After much achievement, he decided to further his career and take his shot at becoming an account manager for a third party logistics company. Brian’s true passion has always been sales, so success followed and in 2001 he decided to open up his own third-party logistics company, Strategic Transport Inc. which has flourished to this day. 

Woman and young boyHilda Stone - Hilda is the daughter of our founder Brian Stone and has been at the helm of our ship since- 2007, although she has been here since founding in 2001. She is a graduate of Portland State University in Marketing and Public Relations and had also attended OSU for a short time. She and her son Elijah live in Beaverton and are both active in sports, as Elijah plays basketball and soccer and Hilda has been a personal coach in softball specializing in catcher training since her successful college career ended. Hilda also has a love for giving back to the community as she is involved and sits on the board for the non-profit organization, Fastpitch Cares that has given back to establishments such as Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. She is the leader and rock of STI and we all love her for it.

Family in pumpkin fieldPhil Stone - Operations Specialist, joined into the family business in 2006. Brother to Hilda, he specializes in truckload and specialized LTL Phil has lived in Oregon his entire life and loves the outdoors and particularly anything golf related. Phil recently became a new father and loves every minute of this new role. We have the pleasure of frequently sharing the office with his daughter, Ayana. His wife Janet, works for the State of Oregon for DHS. Phil truly values his customers and is passionate about his job. He is a constant source of inspiration.

Man sittingDennis Foster – Director of Sales has served as a logistics manger, followed by 15 years in LTL sales at Canadian Freightways and Conway. A teacher at heart, spent 16 years teaching, a co-founder of Oregon Conservatory of Performing Arts, also founded several small theatre companies. He has 25 years of experience in theatre as a director, producer, and actor. His son, Braden is 18, attends PCC, and works for Nike in the Employee Store, and daughter, Adrienne is 22 and will soon graduate from Troy University in AL. She works for Sunset Lanes and Turtles Yoga & Wellness in event planning.

Man and dogJoel Mandel - Sr. Manager, Business Development/Procurement, is originally and proudly from Cleveland, Ohio. He came to Oregon in 2001 after falling in love with the hiking, biking and overall scenery the state offers. He is an avid gardener, loves cooking and wine tasting. His dog, Django, can be found at his side on hiking trails on any given weekend.

Young womanShimmi Munson - LTL Account Manager- manages LTL shipments for Strategic Transport. She joined STI in early 2014 from Traeger where she managed all residential LTL shipments. 27 years young, Shimmi was born and raised in Oregon. She is an avid crafter, a proud aunt, a twin, and a doggy mommy! Her favorite flavor of anything is peppermint and she’s obsessed with everything Canadian, especially hockey (which is the greatest sport on earth. Period). The relationships she builds with her customers and carriers are a part of what makes her successful in her position. Shimmi truly loves her job and goes home every day thankful and happy for her career choice with STI.

Woman with orange backgroundAngelica Gonzalez - Angel, a Senior Account Manager, brings over 25 years of customer service experience. Her focus is to provide a superior customer experience. At STI she manages accounts from the scheduling to the delivery of your product. Angel has two grown children and enjoys spending time at the movies or exploring Portland with them. She looks forward to helping you get your product to your customer.

Woman wearing glassesAubrie Havener - is a new intern this year that has begun working with Dennis. So far, she has loved the experience and can’t wait to see what lies ahead in 2017. When not working with STI, Aubrie is a student at the International School of Beaverton, wrapping up her first semester of her 10th grade year. She remains active both academically and by developing programs at her school that fight for different causes close to her heart; woman’s rights and environmental rights. She is also a full-fledged dancer at the On Pointe School of ballet, and a martial artist practicing in Taekwondo and starting Jujitsu. She is very dedicated to her school work, this internship, her personal life, family and friends. She hopes to continue to grow and gain all the wisdom and experience attainable. We are glad to have her as and STI team member.
